 Jennifer M. Sabatier, Owner/Writer/Consultant
Jennifer Sabatier graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston
with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She has worked in the nonprofit sector
for over 15 years. Nine of those years have been dedicated to grant proposal
writing and nonprofit business development. With seven years of social
service program experience, Ms. Sabatier understands the effectiveness
of client centered services and mission driven programs. Because she has
worked in various capacities for nonprofit organizations, including as
a mental health technician, individual care provider, case manager, grant
specialist and board member, Ms. Sabatier has a broad perspective and integrated
knowledge of nonprofit businesses.
In 2003, Jennifer began her consulting business, NewBloomz, working with
grassroots, small and mid-sized client organizations. During the last several
years, she facilitated giving of significant amounts from both foundation
and government sources with increased giving levels from several longtime
foundation donors for client agencies. She secured multi-year funding from
local, state and federal donors. Among her successful grant proposals,
Ms. Sabatier wrote and received a federal grant award of $175,000 each
year for three years from the National Council on the Aging Family Friends
Project. Grant reviewers on the NCAF panel gave her proposal high accommodations,
and it was one of 7 projects selected for funding out of 75 submitted.
Ms. Sabatier also wrote and received a state grant award of $65,000 each
year for three years from the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities
for a Local Advocacy Training Project; the Texas Council for Developmental
Disabilities made grants to three projects out of the 33 proposals.
From
2004-2006, Jennifer has raised over one million dollars in grant funding
for her clients. During fiscal year 2005-06 alone, Jennifers
grant proposals raised over $650,000 in public and private grant funding
for a $1 million budget. She doubled the grant funds from the
previous year for a client organization serving individuals in crisis and
at risk of suicide. Jennifer brought in $65,000 in foundation grant money
toward a $68,000 budget for fiscal year 2008 for a startup, grassroots
nonprofit serving teenage parents. During fiscal year 2006-07,
Ms. Sabatier raised $40,000 in new funding and over $60,000 in traditional
funds for programs serving individuals and families seeking self-sufficiency,
housing, education and life and work skills. In 2008, Ms. Sabatier helped
secure funding for classroom technology for a small, rural school district
in Central Texas.
Jennifer Sabatier provides client-specific services based on the needs
and budget of the nonprofit organization. She enjoys providing new tools
and training to client organizations to enable them to expand their capacity
to serve. Jennifer aims to help nonprofits open up new potentials, renew
their mission and vision, if necessary, and act creatively to serve
their clients.
